Skylight/Dome Replacement
Broken skylights and unsatisfactory skylight performance are good reasons to replace your existing skylight or glazing. FreeLite sells, repairs and replaces all popular skylight makes and models. We recommend keeping existing frames and replacing the glazing whenever practical - it's cost effective and GREEN. Our replacement services include a one year burden of proof warranty for possible skylight related problems. Ask FreeLite if the skylight is the problem before you replace yours.
My Skylight is Too HOT!!!
If you give up your view, FreeLite guarantees the best quality light at the lowest heat cost with white translucent acrylic. White acrylic (Plexiglas) is Lambertian diffusing, meaning light diffuses evenly in all directions - breaking the harsh summertime Texas sunshine into the best and most lumen per watt light source yet field measured. TWO CATCHES: NO VIEW and adjusting for the variables of translucent tinting.
1)No view. If you can see the sun, it can see you. Darkening the transparent glazings with additional tinted transparent layer(s) reduces heat, too. FreeLite glazing design configurations mitigate the light and energy loss penalty for transparency more effectively than Energy Star rated products. 2)White translucent acrylic is the only field measured glazing to discriminate against heat in favor of light. That means darker is even more cooler - or more lumens per watt. Not enough pigments, it's hotter than tinted transparent. But too dark and we're throwing away nature's best light fixture. FreeLite offers a year of free adjustments to find the best blend for each situation.
